WEEK 15 - December 13th...

Ted and Ed shared Bowler-of-the-Week honors
with their scores of 719 (Ted) and 718 (Ed)
and...Ed kept us on our toes
as he shot the first 10 in game three!

Other top bowlers include: Mary Magee 131, Freddie Wedro 157, Dean Heald 220, Brian Gawlowski 221-596, Jack Fitzpatrick 204, Josh Kendall 245-642, Kay Gawlowski 166, Liz Pratt 220-645, Audrey Wright 182, Lynne Weir 199-532, Bruce Ottmer 172 and Ken Comtois 236-634.

The lanes were good for many of our bowlers tonight which is really good for confidence on the lanes.  We have just about completed the first half of our season and most all of us are pleased that we have made the move to Olympic for bowling this year.

Coming up on Saturday - December 20th - we will start bowling at 6:00 pm! This will help us be able to enjoy our dinner, desserts and gifts.  George promises us a great spread!  For this event we are not able to cover beverages to save on money (however, we will provide them at the end of the season) so you are all on your own for that. The plan is to bowl the first game, move to the higher lane numbers for our meal and gift sharing and then go back to finish bowling. Please bring your $5 (and $10 for any guests) to Jim before we start bowling clearly stating that it is for the party (and not jackpots - that goes in a different pocket)!

We hope that everyone participates in the gift exchange - you aren't required to though.  If you bring a gift, you may take a gift.  Everyone will get a number and choose their gift in that order.  We will also allow one steal on your turn only.  It promises to be a good time!

Now, back to business... there was quite an animated discussion again this week about the handicap process.  No matter what percentage we use to handicap, it will most likely end up with the same results.  So it was decided that we would continue to handicap the difference between the teams for this season and evaluate it at the end of the year.  This is the first time we have had a team with such high averages.  It happened only because of the way folks decided that they weren't going to bowl with us this year and how the new bowlers were assigned.  This was the only team that could take the new bowlers. Let's hope that this system will work well for the second half.

Look for the standing sheets for WEEK 15 HERE!!!  See you on Saturday!
